Beginning in 1985, I fell in love with the German Shepherd Dog and the sport of
Schutzhund. My first dog, Jatz von der Herreneiche SchH1, was a small fiery male
that was spoiled into thinking he was my handler. It was a great learning experience
for us both. Jatz trained many helpers with his aggressive disrespect and his quick
grips. He was never a good sport dog but would have made a great K9. Anastasia von
der Berg was his companion until her untimely death at age 5 under the hoofs of
neighboring horses. They had three litters of puppies together and the pups made
intelligent family dogs as well as a few that went on to schutzhund. Jatz passed
away at 10 years of age, succumbing to cancer.
Faro von der Arenzburg SchH3 Kkl1'a', Evi von Aktienbuckel, Sina aus der Libido
Aue SchH2 Kkl1 'a', Greif von der Kine SchH3 FH kkl1'a' (BSP) (brother to the 1994
Bundessieger), Gitte von der Adelegg SchH3 FH Kkl2'a', Maja vom Kassler Kreuz
SchH1 Kkl2, Chuna Policia ZVV1, Enjoy
v.d. Staeduinhoeve IPO3, Feli von der schwarzen Domain BH, Dundee vom Linsengericht
SchH3 FH1 IP3 Kkl1'a' lbz., Quanta vom Barbatus SchH1 Kkl1 lbz, Isa von der
Kinzigau SchH3 Kkl1 lbz. are some of the wonderful dogs have graced my kennel in past years
and produced a few litters of puppies. I am not in the business of just producing
puppies, but occasionally I find dogs worthy of breeding the type, temperament and
quality of dogs that I feel exemplifies the working qualities of the German Shepherd.
Many puppies from my kennel have gone to police departments, sport homes and families
as well as competing in Schutzhund, AKC obedience or Agility.
2011 has been a tragic year. First my wonderful Quanta vom Barbatus SchH1
Kkl1 lbz. had a curious bout of profound lameness. It was diagnosed as
spondylosis. The second time she became paralyzed could not recover.
Then two months later, my ailing Isa von der Kinzigau SchH3 Kkl1 lbz slowly lost
the ability to walk. Not only had she had a 'doggie stroke' in 2009 but
she had difficulty walking and then cancer. We parted ways shorly before
Christmas. My heart is breaking but I know they are both in a better
place.
Carla Esquina del Sol SchH2 Kkl1 came to the US bred in 2009 and produced the U
litter von der Dornburg and V Litter von der Dornburg.
Sire to the U litter was Irus von der Dornburg SchH3 WUSV and the V litter was
Rob Dunn's male, Balco vom Königs Wolf SchH3 FH1 Kkl1. Carla is a bundle
of energy. Great temperament and would make an awesome agility dog.
I haven't decided what her next litter wil be, but they will be as smart and as
athletic as she is. Keep checking with me.
Rommel von der Dornburg is now approaching adulthood (I hope - he is now 5!).
I say this as I watch him run around with a pink fluffy bunny toy clutched in
his mouth. He is still a big goof who loves people. He is my Home Depot partner
and goes shopping with me all the time. Sometimes he reminds me of his
grandfather Dundee with his little jokes. He will be a good team member and is
easy to get along with. And that is a good thing, as he is quite a big boy! In
2009 he sired a litter for my friends who own Patsi von der Dornburg. Check out
the puppy photos. It's an amazing pedigree. In 2010 Rommel was bred to Zana vom
Tal der Schatten and recently to Apple v.d. Burg Austerlitz. There are happy
funny cool.
Tonigirl von der Dornburg is a beautiful daughter of Daisy von den Tempelherren
SchH1 Kkl1 lbz and Lex vom Klietzer See FH1 IP1 SchH3 . Dark sable, dark eyes, beautiful but busy.
If she isn't digging holes and aggravating Rommel, she is snuggling up to me.
She is extremely loving. I am thinking about breeding her but don't have a
definite plan. I may train her first.
Ulli von der Dornburg is a happy wild intense young female sired by Irus von der
Dornburg SchH3 FH2 Kkl1 WUSV08 participant. Her mother, Carla Esquina del
Sol SchH2 Kkl1, was raised and trained by Nina Lozeva (WUSV competitor) in
Argentina. Ulli like her mother is very intelligent, extremely drivey for
both food and toys. She has boundless energy and loves to play in the
water. She is very social with other dogs and loves to drag me through
Home Depot. And.. we're walkin' !
Venja von der Dornburg is an imp after my heart. She is a sparkly black
and tan with smile to match. She can catch bugs and leaves mid-air if
bored, can create a full blown water feature out of her automatic waterer.
She has wonderful temperament and a curiosity about everything. We are
currently working on manners in the house.
2004 was a big year for me. I moved to a larger place nearby and continue to
clear trees and build kennels. Three kennels were added to the back of the large
shop building and cantilever out into the woods. I built dog boxes inside the shop building allowing the dogs to go in from the three outside kennels
for inclement weather. I have also added satellite kennels with large yards at the entrance to the woods.
The dogs love the yards.
In 2007, I decided that the inside dog houses were not big enough and I replaced them
with full size inside accommodations for the dogs. I call them the dog condos. :)
Come visit, it's a cool place for me and the dogs.
Many progeny of my kennel continue to amaze and delight me. I look forward to continuing
my breedings with fiery, intense, focused, intelligent youngsters. They are delightful to
train with and will win your heart as they do mine. Dundee vom Linsengericht
SchH3 FH IP3 Kkl1 (LGA) is now a grandfather
many times over and I am very proud
to have many titled generations. Dundee is absent from my home but not from my
heart. Watch for updates as I continue on in my German Shepherd endeavors, the
love of my life. Take care of the breed and be good to your dogs, it will return
to you ten-fold.
Yours in the German Shepherd,
Laurie
